I agree, approaching the family and relatives is a delicate subject.I would do more research, go to the city/county and see if you can pull probate records and find out who the executor is.

I prefer to remove the weeds manually and then use thick landscaping fabric, mulch and pre-emegent products such as Preen, as mentioned by @Steve Babiak.

What they have is paving fabric , it is but down prior to repaving a badly cracked road , it works similar to drywall tape , it doesnt allow reflective cracking , or the old crack to reappear thru the new asphalt.

Also, the tenant is a trouble maker, accusing his neighbor's dog biting his kids (which I know it was fabricated) and looked to get insurance payout.Would like to hear some ideas and your past experiences.

I would be concerned about dust, lice, and smells with fabric, although we do put up fabric panels in place of closet doors in some units.
