They start every July on the first so you have time.Maine will not appreciate as much as New Jersey but you get more bang for the buck, depending on location.Old people are cool too but have a low threshold for odd smells of decay.

it would be great if more jurisdictions took this route and in shorter amount of time.. just letting tax default properties sit for years and years creates decay in many areas.. were props are abandoned and no one can do anything with them.. that's why I like CA and other tax DEED sale states don't pay your tax's for 5 years you lose it.. gives everyone plenty of warning to cure.. its also why its very rare to have anything but vacant land go to sale..

You don't have to fix non essentials like decaying windows, out of level floors etc but I can't believe required problems don't have to be addressed.
