As long as you're doing that, there's always a risk, and 50 years from now it will probably be illegal everywhere to operate STRs in residential zoning, just like it's illegal to operate a steel mill there. 

Meaning, a Class C Neighborhood will have majority of Class C properties, but there will still be some Class B and some Class D.

Will this lawsuit truly bring relief to renters, or is it just a Band-Aid on a much deeper wound?

There are 1 man bands that often do not have scalability and do too much on their own. 

The STR owners have banded together and are meeting with the town as a group, and it looks like the town will adopt some STR rules allowing and setting guidelines for STRs.
