It most likely won't help them in this case but let's face it - they're not big on resolving their own problems especially when you're accommodating them.The longer you allow them to live rent-free with no solution in place, the longer they will do just that.

I've tried Air BNB support to understand what the prior quality issues are to prove we've resolved them (but for privacy they can't tell me).

Then they found an unresolved mortgage (since resolved) and a judgment lien on the previous owner (still not resolved). 

I found a lot of issues such as concerns with utility capacity, storm drain easements etc. that we eventually resolved and turned out to be minor but could have been show-stoppers.4.

Unfortunately, there was a stop work order in place on the property, which the roofing contractor was told by BTC was resolved.  

This situation is far too messy to get resolved here on BP.

Fraud, even when caught, takes time, energy, and money to resolve.
