For one, you can't really compare broad investment philosophies.  

We used to have a similar philosophy ... and then we went to live in Clovis, New Mexico for a few years!

After 5 years when exits are due the syndicators will start forming new companies to reset the clock and blame previous experience to difference of philosophy of previous partners.

I tend to agree with that philosophy. 

Not a rhetorical question :-) So I'm happy you answered, and I hope others will chime in.I appreciate you sharing your investment strategies and your philosophy behind why you do what you do (re: control and liquidity). 

There are a lot of groups out there right now that had made-for-TV track records that will likely not be in business in a couple years.Focus on the experience of the team, how long they have been in the business, how many market cycles they’ve survived, their philosophy on leverage, and how many properties they bought in 2022/2023 (a good answer would be few, a great answer would be none).And do yourself a favor and read The Hands-Off Investor (in the BP bookstore) before you invest a single dollar in a syndication.

My philosophy is to catch negative reviews before they happen AND to make it easier for happy guests to remember to rate and review.

Your philosophy is let's compare this strategy to paying your mortgage off in another way or putting your extra money in stocks or saving up to buy rentals or buying a sports car or going to Disneyland or starting a secret family with your secretary, it'll be fun.

I like the philosophy of investing where you would want to live.

My basic philosophy is that if you can't handle the little things, then you can't handle the big things.
