Find someone in a local REIA that knows the local scene, and is successful, and doesn't mind teaching.

Just becuase they are an attorney does not mean they know how the process really works behind the scenes and knows all the short cuts.

Here in the East Bay the rental scene is nuts, hard to find a nice rental in a good location.

Anyway, I would suggest attending some local meetups and/or investment club meetings to immerse yourself into the scene, meet other like-minded people.
