Donald, The reasons we are looking at a duplex specifically is one tenant is less headache for us as this will be our first investment property, the lenders we are pre-approved with are only interested in a duplex nothing larger for first time buyers programs, and our city is loaded with side by side duplexes.Just convincing my wife to buy an investment property took a lot of Chip and Joanna Gaines books, and the agreement that it would be "cute" as some of the duplexes are brick Tudors with wood floors, fireplaces, and in up and coming older neighborhoods.

We merely copied his idea with his permission.I haven't met my agent but it is possible that she is cute and that has an effect on the appraisers as well.Interestingly, even non-FHA appraisals have often resulted in a desk review or, rarely, a second appraisal for my recent sales.

Chris - the graphic you recently posted is completely accurate of the "Home Equity" loan they offer however if you go on their website and specifically search for home equity line of credit, they also have information about the N.O.O. line they offerhttps://www.penfed.org/home-equity-center/home-equity-line-of-credit Under their logo on the top left you can toggle between loan and line.
