You'll likely be severely taken advantage of in more ways than I can think of and if this is a financed project.... your lender certainly would have massive concerns with all of this.

@Meghan McCallum  I am going to sell all my properties in July so I avoid the massive August melt down your predicting  :)  unfortunalty I will be about knee deep in 40 new builds.. so hopefully I can just barely scrape by.

The crime rate, the cost, the political climate up there has zero appeal to me. with that said, I take the Warren Buffet approach (invest in what you understand) I do not understand the appeal of Chicago.
