Once you find a good contractor whether it is a painter, carpenter, countertop install etc, ask them for recommendations.

Now I admit my workman did go in and fix the place up ,took them 10 days ( I don't even want to go into the condition these tenants left the apartment in...lets just say it took a carpenter, painter, plumber exterminator and hardwood floor guy to reassemble the apartment).

Sorry I have done houses in the past I am a Carpenter\painter and spakler by trade .

Does anyone have a good mid-range, price wise, quality painter they would recommend?

I pay one the carpenter 200 a day and he's a great painter.

I've done it - had closing scheduled at 1pm on a Friday, left there at 3pm and held an open house for interested tenants from 430-6pm and had the house rented out within 2.5hrs of buying it..... had the painters and flooring guy in that week and new tenant took posession the following weekend.

I think you hit most of them on the head if he is more of a handy man he may not have a contractor lic such as a painter,carpet person or single trade other than mechanical

(It sounded just too good to be true, but is what I was told directly by the selling agent) The home was built in 1967, but from my stand point, being engaged to a painter, that is not an issue as we plan to paint everything anyway.
