Given this situation we decided to have the "mud guy" do a light coat of joint compound and cover the paper joins just like a drywall seam.

If it had to go to the garage or a patio enclosure, I'd probably opt for the enclosured patio, improving it, insulating the room and set aside that area as a mud room/utility room.

Hello, I am researching my options on a old bathroom that has some ceramic tile from the 1950's - installed on a lath& plaster wall with a 1" "mud wall" behind the tiles.

There are LOTS of ways to make money in the real estate world...and there are lots of ways to help people by putting a roof over their head, by helping them sell an undesirable property or a burdensome property; by improving property; by loaning money; by partnering on projects; the list is very long.

I really don't see why you are telling me that Manila was a "undesirable" area 10 years ago.

If the returns are so good then why are they so undesirable to the market. 

I went from busting my hump digging ditches in the rain and mud to programming robots.
