I was thinking from a legal perspective I would need to perform an OFAC check which is automatically done through my background check system(https://www.tenantbackgroundsearch.com).

Sorry for the lengthy post, but I thought I'd provide some background info before I get to my question.A little background: My wife and I (and our toddler and newborn) have just started our REI journey this past March.

I currently have no background in real estate but have spent time researching and preparing myself for my first investment.  

What if they have terrible landlord references or a criminal background that includes legally deniable crimes?

Can anyone refer me to a good online credit/background check.

I've heard to do back ground checks and credit score checks.

My background and career has been spent in IT and Project Management.
