John and Susie homebuyer are not likely to understand that and unless it’s some kind of smoking deal they’re likely going with something safer. 

All of the bad stuff - Not abiding by any rules, smoking in the house, not paying rent, leaving totaled vehicles in the driveway for weeks on end, allowing pets to damage the property, incurring excessive utility bills without compensating for them, all of that good stuff.

I guess I’m asking, was this guy just blowing smoke, or is there more to how this works that I’m not understanding?

They will check for leaks under sinks , loose outlets , electrical recepticals smoke detectors  carbon monoxide detectors .

Bought a pre-foreclosure where the previous owner smoked inside for a decade 🤮. 

Just a window, a min of 70 SF plus the other dimension requirements, and a smoke detector.

Had she not kicked in the door recently, smoked in the unit, and bring bad people over, I most certainly would have worked with her. 

Has anyone done business with this company for fire/smoke mitigation?

We do give out info on the application process which we thought was pretty standard ($45 app fee which goes to third party credit/background check; 600+ credit score; 3X gross income; no evictions; no smoking; positive references and background check).
