This is what my mortgage disclosure papers say in the occupancy agreement (I checked the primiary residence box), "If the Borrowers have indicated that the Property is their primary residence, the Borrowers represent that they have no present intent to sell, lease, rent or otherwise dispose of said Property, upon occupancy of the Property they will not have any other permanent and primary residence, and the Property is not used for investment purposes."

I’ve never had dogs use permanent marker on the walls (yet).

I recently got close to moving forward with a loan when i found out that the bank will only lend to US citizens and not permanent residents so that adds another layer of complexity.Some details about my current portfolio:2 duplexes - both rented7 Single Family homes - 5 rented, 2 will be on the market in  a couple of weeks for rentTotal Portfolio Value approx $550K. 

Given that I am in the military, I'm not really emotionally attached to material stuff since I move so much, but I hope to eventually be attached to a property or a business as that'd mean I'd finally commit to some sort of permanency.

Build to rent, search for a construction to permanent financing mechanism. 

Does that second floor window require a fire ladder installed permanently, or can one be provided as a stand-alone unit?

@Jonathan CraigSounds like if you installed a ethernet cable upstairs, it will be a permanent enhancement and I wouldn't charge the tenant for it, if in fact it's an included amenity.

Or should I wait until I settle down somewhere more permanent?

By selling my SFR and my current home, our VA loan limit will be rest back to zero, allowing us to eventually use it again to purchase our permanent home, which most likely will be a new build.
