Buying Your First Property On The Move

I'm a recent college graduate going into work in the real estate industry. I want to buy my first property but I'm not sure how to go about the process if I don't know where I'm going to be long term. Should I look into buying real estate where I'm currently located even if I might move in a year or two? Or should I wait until I settle down somewhere more permanent?
