Philadelphia has horrible landlord tenant laws some possible places in rought places like Allentown.  

The law will change on 10/1/24.

Fortunately we have a way in the law that allows us to recoup our repair costs if the property is redeemed by the owner.

Hi Aubri,I did something similar but to ensure we were in compliance with local laws, I called the local county building and planning department and had a meeting with them to discuss my plans (this was done during the purchase process) to get approval.

I am currently on an H2B non-immigrant work visa in the hospitality sector and am legally not allowed to have another job other than what is stated on my visa/petition. 

My in-laws have had a place up there for years.

The laws and structures protecting tenants, landlords, property, and financing have changed, but the basic premise of buying and renting is more or less the same back to at least the Romans. 

Keep in mind that month+ rentals are usually covered by state laws governing tenant / landlord rights and responsibilities.
