. _ I live in Chicago near midway airport and I invest in Northwest Indiana (Hammond, Whiting, East Chicago) which property shouldn't be too much of a hike for you.

That doesn't mean Fair Park/Southeast Dallas is off the table, but I would guess they would want better proximity to DFW Airport.

i have my thoughts but i wanted to get insight from skilled investors.Because of the size of the market (3rd largest MSA), pricing compared to the left & right coasts, & the airports Chicago is still one of the best markets for real estate investing.

Are there any industrial areas nearby (landfills, recycling facilities, waste water treatment facilities, train tracks, air ports, prisons reentry program, etc.?)

And they aren't quite as "ritzy" as the Aspen/Vail/Telluride areas but still provide the same entertainment options and nearby airports. 

There could be a niche market renting to people with small planes who like the airport crowd and need a place to stay during their visits or stopovers. 

I frequently speak at the WNYREI that is held at the Holiday Inn near the Buffalo airport on the last Tuesday of every month.
