I recently bought 'Crush it' from a recommendation of my friend Harrison Painter and noticed you're pushing the book as well.

scratch it out and fill with a very flexible caulk  - not a painters caulk. it is not wide and looks like a normal settling crack. as far as the fireplace, check where the roof meets the chimney, it may need to be re-flashed and tared also seal where the siding meets the chimney, it does not look like any signs of mildew and can be painted over with some kilz or any primer that will cover stains

Then when you get a guy who works on your plumbing ask if he knows a painter.

I'm just starting my rehab business in Dallas and looking for any recommendations for a Handyman - Do It All - Guy - as well as Electricians, Plumbers, Painters, and Roofers.

I buy left-over from several painter friends - Of course, they are mismatched.

All of these can factor into a painters estimate.  

Book the painter too. 

I wanted to see if anyone has a painter they can recommend.
