Depending on what the smell actually is, I use kilz restore primer and then paint the place.

I actually looked at moving about five blocks from Shand's in Springfield area off of Main Street it is has so many beautiful restored Victorian homes.

I flip fire-damaged properties and own a fire damage restoration company.

I know that Renaissance Properties is going through and restoring a lot of these old homes.

The rents will restore your cash flow margins in a few years and then you can do it again, and again, and again.I like to keep our LTV for our portfolio at or below 75% because it reduces risk.

I would contact a mold restoration company and get it taken care of.

Update:I massaged the numbers with USAA and by maxing the deductible ($10k) I was able to fall within my estimates for this property.

I own a home relatively new (5 years) and there was a major leak in the house that I had to get fixed and a lot of restoration work is needed.

They also have to cover the cost to restore the unit to the original condition.  

I wish somebody would cite an example proving me wrong...please to restore my faith in the system!
