USD On several occasions this week clients have either jokingly or seriously mentioned redirecting or reallocating their equity portfolios into real estate.

Then, after submitting, it redirects that person to his email marketing site to capture certain info to decide whether or not it’s a good lead to call or not....info such as: property square footage, how much the person owes, and contact info.

If you were to redirect a portion of a builder mortgage to yourself as payment, then at some point your going to have to pay back that money out of proceeds from a future project.  

I'd like to re-direct this money to invest in rentals rather then mutual funds where I've historically had less than 8% ROI per year.  

Your first month's rent will likely be delayed til your second month because you will have to file paperwork before payments can be redirected to you.

My idea is to try to crowdfund the purchase and rehab of some of their condemned buildings, sell them, and redirect at least half of the profits to the local economy (small businesses, etc.).

Just so people know, one cannot buy RE directly with your 401(K) while you are working there, at your employment.

I was planning on doing the same thing you are, once my reserve gets to a certain point, redirect future funds towards the next down payment, and if the reserve drops below that point, build reserve back up until full.Definitely interested in hearing everybody's take on the subject.

We have now redirected our strategy to target single family flips in Northern Jersey.
