Dark floors and lighter walls/kitchen will hopefully make it feel brigher and larger inside. 

If you on a blank slate, you may choose to look at Open Office or Libre Office, as nice free alternatives.Windows 10 is a lighter build than some of the more recent OS releases.

I've seen too much stained lighter color granite.

I love that dress at the end (such a great color on you) and your lighter hair color is gorgeous and really brings out the blue in your eyes.

On a lighter note, I'm a huge fanboy.

I painted one floor years ago with a tan paint and did some edge stencils like that  inlay you sometimes see in wood,  it looked good but it wasn't my first choice. if you paint porch and deck paint is good and lighter but not white tones are better, so tan, grey. 

Coverage also depends on the quality of the paint-once I went over a bright red semi gloss with a lighter blue eggshell paint and for most areas, one coat was enough-which shocked me.

In my area, as homes enter the market I can tell instantly if it will go fast (nice kitchen, lighter than darker colors, a few nice bathrooms).
