I worked with my father for decades in property management and sometimes it is easy to work with family, other times it is tough. 

At the time the property was appraised at 260k. it needed 80k in repairs and the yearly taxes were only 3500 in my fathers name.

He reminds me of my father-in-law (RIP). 

My sister and father are lawyers and have fought their taxes all the way through the process and have gotten very little relief from the tax board.

The city fathers said it was ok because it was on a sales contract.

I'm purchasing my grandma's house, 1st investment house,  from my father and he purchased the house about 49 to 50 years ago. 

Additionally, I can receive $40k in gifts from my father and ability to access a $20-60k loan from family at 4% APY interest.

My father also owns an expensive SFH which has gone up YoY in taxes by about 80%.
