This has caused at least 3 major problems: 1) the market is now oversaturated with Airbnbs, 2) rental rates have come down bc of so much competition, 3) there's a dire shortage of workers available to service the huge increase in the # of Airbnbs.Wait times are often a month or longer for service providers.

Here's my situation:*I'm 49 and a health care professional*I have 3 kids*I have a large home with a large mortgage that I built, but have substantial equity because I built it on 85 acres of land that I got for a song, and the prices have risen dramatically (what I'm saying is I have equity I can use but will not tap that unless it's a dire emergency.)

Also, look at NYC, which in the 70's and into the 80's was becoming more violent every year, even in the nicer parts of Manhattan and was literally almost bankrupt at one point, murders and arson were rampant, they had blackouts, the mob had its hands in the pockets of literally every business no matter how small, people were predicting the most dire of futures and many big businesses were seriously drawing up plans to exit NYC, either for the burbs or for another part of the country and some did leave.
