Prior to this I’ve lived here around 6 years and always paid my rent on time faithfully and plan on setting up auto-pay to avoid any discrepancies in the future but I honestly can’t afford to just give away an extra $370 if I don’t owe it.Any insight into the discrepancy would be greatly appreciated.

The only benefit in this instance, as an investment partner in a JV, or member in a multi-member LLC, is it's an act of "good faith" on my part in the agreement, being extremely transparent about the project's costs for the construction company, and the specific amount the partner/member invoices as profit or salary attributed to construction services on the specific project (I differentiate profit from salary, as it depends on the size of your construction company, a smaller company the profit may be the salary etc).

My point is rather than needling over the technical inaccuracy that a lis pendens is a lawsuit, it's not its a signal of a lawsuit, I just took his meaning in good faith without creating a fuss over a technical innacuracy.
