I'm currently living in Tokyo and have been for the last 4 years.

When you have Olympic athletes avoiding 2016 Olympic events held in the tropics, you have a macro issue. 

I've also inspected it (rather had a friend inspect it since I live in Tokyo, but I digress.)As @Adam McCarty said, I just couldn't make the numbers work.

I don't do inspections in California, but for $2k a pop I'd almost move ;-) That said, the house would surely have to be something ridiculously huge with an Olympic size pool, dive tank, 87 zone sprinkler system, and possibly its own power plant for me to even imagine that type of number...

My goal is to make it to, and win a gold medal for the USA at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea. 

Not sure where you are in Japan - but there's a monthly BiggerPockets meetup here in Tokyo, on the 3rd Thursday of each month.  

I get it in 5 gallon buckets from Lowe's, Olympic One, satin finish.

I just left Tokyo a few weeks ago, had been there 6 years this time. 

There is a HUGE difference between Bellingham, Seattle, Yakima, Spokane, and the Olympic Peninsula. 

We have the ocean, mountains - you can swim and ski in the same day, all type of food and culture, MTV, Yahoo, Tesla, Space X, Ratheon, Amazon, SnapCat, Yahoo, Google - too many tech companies to list, Silicone Valley, Silicone Beach, two pro football teams, Olympics coming within a decade, hikes and amazing scenery, Hollywood, USC, UCLA, and amazing weather, LA San Diego, Santa Barbara, SF Bay.
