Go red states, they are sensible with landlord laws and are experiencing growth because once glorious places like California have become their own worst enemy by over liberalizing. 

Second, I see a few mentions of Californians leaving their state and bringing the 'liberal' (or however you want to label it) ideals/politics to other states, which is potentially upsetting locals and I can understand where they're coming from.

Be conservative with your gains and liberal in perceived expenses.

From my narrow point of view of Ventura County millennials that aren't in tech or a liberal waitress, any young person with a good head on their shoulders will be packing up and leaving soon.
