In all seriousness, you need 2 or 3 of each (plumber, electrician, drain cleaning, handyman, painter etc).

So J Scott's question is something to think about.For those just getting started, however, there's nothing wrong with trading sweat equity and learning something in the process.I actually really LIKE painting (I know, I'm strange) but I don't want to be a house painter for a living.

No dust. the popcorn just scrapes off the ceiling.I used painters drop mats on the tile I was going to keep.Spraying. 

When I'm looking for new painters, I try to get more than the usual 3 bids.  

My fiance and I really like smooth, but we were advised that no matter what a great job the painter/contractor does, those imperfections will show.  

Caveat Emptor.Your PM is charging a premium over and above what the painters and flooring contractors are charging. 

Painting - sounds silly but it's easy to be a decent painter.

Of course, our painter just tasted a flake of paint to test...
