If Ca  falls into the ocean I will open up a scuba dive tour of old Hollywood movie lots. 

I like good books, good movies, and great music.

They never went out to restaurants (McDonald's was considered too expensive), movies, etc.

I would say each property is 10-30 minutes from a Walmart or movie theater.

Ever notice how if you watch certain kind of movies or video games, you see some of that in your dreams?.

Both of these communities are so close together, that there'll be regular interaction and we'll have monthly potlucks and movie nights. 

(I even give them movie tickets at Christmas.)Having a nicer property helped, and screening carefully for good tenants has helped me avoid other problems.

La to NY  you will be with C and B list movie folks.. 

Many folks have a short term memory but every time I hear someone talk about it I think of the movie Fort Apache and Howard Cosell saying on live TV that the Bronx is burning.

Your non-real estate friends won't understand, so my best advice is to casually talk about it, but quickly change the conversation back to regular items, seen any movies lately, how are the kids, etc.
