We kept the old beam in place, replaced all the pier blocks and supported all the posts, jacked the center of the house up with multiple 3ton jacks, ADDED a brand new 2nd beam to help support the span of the Joists, AND get this, had to strap down one side of the old U beam and crank it down to help keep it from staying a U shape.

If your roof is in good shape then call homeowner inspectors and say you want to do a 4pt I would suggest you do a wind mitigation inspection too as it costs about 50 dollars extra and you will usually have single straps or other discounts that save more than this.

., Mike M, Seeing the family home of the shooter, it appeared to me that they were not financially strapped, the shooter was also driving a newer compact car, so I'd guess that he could probably spend his savings and get what he had.

You have to make sure there isn't a laundry mat next door, but usually I find they charge higher rates, but something to pay attention to.   

@Mat O'Grady has organized those.CTREIA is a statewide group that meets in Meriden once/month and has some subgroups, but the only location-specific ones I last knew of were in Fairfield County.

If you try these while strapped for cash or not being experienced in the business, you could run yourself into a headache.
