One last year had oil paint 3 layers thick- but just the border between a huge area rug and the walls. 

The double thickness makes it harder for the wind to pass through and the fence will act like a sail causing further damage.

Yeah, as we know, "appreciation is the icing on the cake", but sometimes the icing on the cake is so thick investors go for it.

I own my buildings and they will always have value thick or thin.  

In the other rooms it peels the same but is not as thick and does not peel off in sheets.

@Alf Holst strange... carpet padding is far too thick and the planks (if they're click type) will separate when walked on for any period of time.

It created a thick white coating over the rock/cement walls.Using a dehumidifier helps keep it on the wall.
