If disagreements arise between the parties the escrow agent is not in a position to take either side, they can only follow the terms of the contract and applicable law, so they are not a mediator as such but must act by instructions agreed to by both parties. :)So much for reading titles!

Steve Ramer I was a divorce mediator after law school for more than a decade and am in the middle of one currently.

I don't think it has been easy for them but it is a credit to their mediating power that the love of the kid comes first.

Many states have mandated mediation.

Not sure if the attorney even had a chance to read the contract.Next, we wrote the seller that we'd like to settle the differences through a mediation, which is again written in the contract.

When you have an argument with someone, isnt it helpful to have a 3rd neutral party mediate it?

We don't have anyone on staff at midnight to mediate your spats but we do have moderators in Zillow Advice 7 days a week.
