This is strictly a perception thing in my opinion, not a legal issue.Also generally speaking the code of ethics for licensees makes things like wholesaling a bit of a gray area in terms of who all gets a piece of the pie (broker's comission split and other distribution of earnings)

The closing attorney is technically or typically supposed to represent the buyer, so the waters can begin to turn a bit gray if worst case things go south and the same attorney represented both the lender and the borrower/buyer.

As a broker myself, I would love to get 5% - 6% for about twice the amount of work (a little less actually since a lot of work is communicating with the other broker) but it's a very gray area ethically.
