Since it was obviously conveniente more me also to move there, and not only financially but for family reasons, I said ok, let's help each other out (I am very humble and frugal and don't need to live in mansion) and at the end it turned out that I was helping him more that the other way around and keep in mind this is only a part of the whole story.

I don't see a single positive besides being period correct if it's a Victorian mansion or something where the buyers would want an authentic period correct home (very small niche market).

I have checked with insurance before taking out a policy on both units (separate lots) and they had no exclusions for it, so I am good there.I guess my biggest dilemma right now is price point and what embellishments to make for what the return might be.We have in the are luxury condos, lakeside private acreages, lodge retreats, cabins, tiny houses (2 story trailers- if you will) ,residential like mine and campsites/tents plus the RV parks.It seems most places offer lakeview or lakeside as the drawing angle.

Both Coeur d'Alene and Silverwood (our big local amusement park) are 15 miles in either direction.My hesitancy is that the other Coeur d'Alene properties are gorgeous luxury homes or condos with granite countertops, spa tubs and fantastic views.

My Mom likes the idea of making T-shirts for home buyers with Sleeping Beauty's Castle on the front with the title "Before Escrow Closes" and the Haunted Mansion on the back with "After Escrow Closes".She nixed the idea of "Slumlord" outlined in Rhinestones -- she said too many people wouldn't understand the irony (my house is really nice).
