My understanding is that due to the fact that the City Council has not voted to finalize decision, they have put a moratorium on issuing any Type 2 or Type 3 permits.

First the (presumably, out of state) underwriter must be educated on the fact that there is a state called California, and within that state is a county called Alameda, and within that county is a city called Oakland, and within that city there is a city council, and periodically that council has passed various ordinances, etc etc.

Sure enough one of the panelist was the head of a NYC area real estate group, The Council of Urban Real Estate or CURE.

I just listened in to a recent council meeting it looks like there may be some changes that might be coming up to the STR program in the area (permit parking system, 2 per bedroom max occupancy requirement, increased fines, maximum rooms available for rents etc).
