Also, if you know of any bodies of works (books etc...) that would education one on building regulation that home inspectors place violations on such as electrical, construction, etc..., I would love to get my knowledge enhanced on that as well.

just shop on the MLS look for fixers.. its a mine field with wholesalers there are some that are fine but its full of beginners and time wasters to down right folks you don't want to ever deal with.

When you start shopping for properties your realtor will most likely know people who own rentals, also, when you look at properties in person you can meet other property owners or brokers.
