We have a rental there as well and had no issues getting it rented out, however you have to know that the area is a summer getaway and most of the industry is tailored around tourism and healthcare for retirees who live up there full time.  

Because a lot of people believe they are good with money but they forget about the planning aspect: taxes, draw down strategies, social security strategies, health care, risk protection, and legacy planning just to name a few.

In healthcare, a TON of employers will do that!

Augusta, GA is a metro area of about 500k people and an economy powered mostly by government, healthcare and some manufacturing. 

I believe our children come first (they are our future, of course :), and I'm all for the government spending as much of my tax dollars as necessary to ensure that every child in this country has access to health care and a great education.

How many times have they announced that they are going to raise prices to offset higher steel/rubber/oil/wages/healthcare in the last year?

How about health care....These 3 things could really take us down for quite some time.

@Ron N  You are correct Ron now you add in your canadian pension and employment insurance it is 6.83% plus your 46.84% you are at 53.67%  The last time the canadian dollar was on par was Feb 2013 .It has slid 27.5%since My only point is that when one invests overseas currency and taxes are a consideration I would gladly pay extra taxes to enjoy your fine health care system and the many other social benefits of Canada now back to the conversation.

Too much uncertainty with health care and cap and trade legislation working through Congress, plus, expiration of Bush tax cuts next year could hurt growth.
