My point is that some of the neighborhood perception stuff can be subjective, so you have to check it out for yourself to see if you feel comfortable there.

There's a sort of societal taboo about talking money, yes.

Unfortunately, the general perception in society and specifically in this industry regarding Section 8 is that whoever is provided Section 8 assistance is "low" class.  

Most likely it's a bad time to buy, but decide that based off the numbers rather than perceptions. 

If that's your perception, which isn't anywhere near close to reality, then you may want to look for deals that aren't listed on the mls.

"Our" resentment toward Chicago stems from the perception that Chicagoans tend to act as if we are insignificant and they are better than us.
