If you do go with an LLC, make sure an attorney provides it specific to you (not downloaded from the internet), that teh attorney will defend it in court, that you jave an operatiing agreement and that you follow said operating agreement.

Since the OP specifically mentioned that she will be operating her MTR in Gainesville, GA, she needs to be aware that there is an ordinance limiting all rentals to 16 days or greater.

It is very challenging to get your AirBnB license unless you are renting out YOUR UNIT or you do 25% of your units if you have over 6 units or something along these lines.The only way I'd advise STRs in Chicago would be if you are going operate a business to scale and had the resources/local knowledge to do so.I'd actually highly suggest Michigan because there is WAY LESS restrictions.
