I'm curious where the line is drawn b/c I can write off a meal when I am leaving my 9-5 job and going straight to a volleyball match to officiate (second job).

If its positive it adds to your job/self employment income as a total income figure to determine your DTI or debt to income. 

That is their job to walk with you through the entire process including the time periods and identifying the requirements for reinvestment as well as documentation. 

Oh well, perhaps that's another person who relocated.But then her work reference was for a remote job based out of Pennsylvania, and the number for her reference there was also a 952 number.

retiring on cash flow is a pretty tough thing to do for most folks full stop.to me to do that its highly dependent on your location and price points.And how much capital you have to start with and or your day job to allow you to scale.
