They actually sent me an anonymized bid for another property so I could get an idea about how much it costs to fix up certain areas of the house.

Setting up an LLC in Nebraska is very cheap (unlike some states...) and provides all the well-known benefits: anonymity, having a business entity, legal protection, etc....I have never had a problem getting a loan with a property title held in an LLC, but I do get commercial loans, I sign a personal guarantee, and I work with a lender who's used to deal with investors.

It is a great concept, asset protection wise, to separate the entities holding properties from the entities operating.In my case all my properties are held in local single member LLCs that are all owned by a WY holding LLC (to get the anonymity and charging order protection).In addition I do have a management C Corp that is under contract by all my LLCs to manage the properties.This C Corp is the public face of the operation, signs lease, collects rents, pays all repairs, taxes and utilities.

When combined with an anonymous land trust, this form of asset protection can provide both limited liability for your properties and anonymity in all of your purchases. 

The other tenant will know you are the owner and you will likely be doing all the work yourself so you get almost no added liability protection or increased anonymity.  

Does anybody receive rent checks, business mail to a po box and have it forwarded to there house to keep it anonymous?

If a rental property is in there, that means they get to enjoy the cash flow and tax advantages associated with the property.Part of what gives a land trust its armor is the anonymity associated with it.
