This is because there are organizations like the Apartment Association of Southeastern WI who works to enact legislation to make things more fair to the landlord. 

Two important pieces of legislation took affect on October 1st.

The numbers are beautiful...when my plan was to run it as an AirBnB...but they are currently voting (like right now as I type this) on all sorts of terrible legislation in Chicago that would limit Airbnb to 90 days/year and prevent it from being an entire Airbnb building.

The legislation won't help much at all as few of these units get reinstalled "new" somewhere...they head to the scrapper for a quick $20.  

That's a different beast, and the practices described in this thread would most likely be deemed deceptive trade practices per all the recent legislation....

I'm very unhappy to hear that Dodd/Frank, the SAFE Act, and who knows what else is in the works, is legislation originated from the banking lobby (in cahoots with the governement) aimed at knocking private and small lenders out of business.

The Founding Fathersenvisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve theirterm(s), then go home and back to work.If each person contacts a minimum of twenty people then it willonly take three days for most people (in the U.S. ) to receivethe message.

As of last legislative session, same goes for appeal to County Court, but I haven't seen that yet.

I am afraid that this article is propaganda, and is softening the voter base for rent control legislation.
