@Allison ZittritschIf you want to invest in Airbnb, the first step is to look into markets in Michigan, especially in popular areas like tourist spots or city centers.

For example it is waterfront, is a flat cleared lot next to a tourist attraction with insufficient parking, it is positioned next to a church or other type of building that may need overflow parking, in between to meticulously maintained houses, or in an amazing school district.

Many local people own vacation rentals and make their living renting to tourists, as I do.

I have a commercial office building under contract for 375k with 75K down. i have tried conventional, private lender/ hard money.Everybody  says it is a rural area of only 1700 people year round but it is a Tourist town.

Final decisions are influenced by local demand, seasonality, popularity of tourist destinations and other factors.

That is certainly the goal (revitalize downtown) the nonprofits here are making "filling storefronts" with viable businesses and keeping tourist downtown,  longer. 

Take advantage of the seasonal tourist market premium.

@Kyle Pierrehumbert it's easy for all the commentors to tell you to deny these applicants.REALITY: many tourist-related businesses are having a hard time finding seasonal workers due to lack of affordable housing!
