I'm curious to hear about your experience here in Boston - I know the Seaport looks like it's own independent city compared to 5 years ago!

We have about $200K equity in our home, both of us are independent contractors / business owners who write off a lot on our tax returns - so I’m not clear if we have to take what we can get or if these terms seem in the realm of normal.

It's definitely an option and one that can jump start your path to financial independence. 

Appraisers are necessarily independent. 

I have used him in the past with a punchlist and he is independent, skilled and reasonably priced.
