I am not on the river, but I am across and there is a public access alley to the river sixty feet from the house.I am toying with the idea of providing a kayak and a paddle board with the house.

Now on to your original question – I have never been one that enjoyed paddling upstream.

Golf cart, furniture, boat, paddle board, etc.  

Lots of ecological types of volunteer work, with nice people (easy to make friends)Farrmer's market, assorted street fairs and parades.Lots of activities for children.Our world famous Pole Peddle Paddle, combo race that involves skiing, running, bike, and kayak.

Competition is fierce and I need to find an edge or else I'm up the creek without a paddle. 

I forecast having to provide paddle boards/kayaks/fishing gear to differentiate myself in the next season or two.

What you will want to do is get a paint stir paddle that attaches to a drill....because you are going to need to mix the heck out of the paint!

if you can't paddle out, you don't belong out" There were many days I did not paddle out.

I highly recommend everyone visit the National/State parks in Utah and a road trip from Banff to Jasper and paddle board the FL keys. 

I get very excited when I think I have found THE deal only to end up paddling a boat down the river of disappointment and tears(or stress sweat) when the deal evaporates or ends up being nothing more than "smoke and mirrors".To expand on life's larger issues...well again without oversharing my opinion; I see this world is turning out to be a large pit of snakes willing to bite each other just to get a little closer to the top.
