For me, that means spending on the things that make a place feel like home: really nice bathrooms and kitchens, and saving on the things that make the home less profitable: stone coated steel roofs, hardwood floors and the like.

Apparently she is trying to buy a house or she will be homeless (at least that is the nonsense she put in the text).  

I completely understand that governments don't want a huge uptick in homelessness to deal with right now.

I told him I find abandoned old units, clean them up,and work w/HUD to provide families in the homeless shelter w/ a place to live, so I get to make money while helping others.

It doesn't take as long as most people think to get to the point where that 300K/Y tech couple is homeless.

I read recently that one reason for the homeless problem is that boarding houses and the like have been torn down in cities and zoned out elsewhere.
