Investing purely for appreciation is surely a way to get your rear handed to you.

To my understanding they are depreciating money pits that are a complete pain in the rear.

Are utilities at the lot and easy to access for the rear property?

We changed the floorplan of the house back into a 3/2, converted that first half of the 2-part bedroom series into a hallway extension with the other side of the wall being a full master bath, and finished the second half of the 2-part bedroom series into a full master bedroom with his and her closets and a rear entrance.

I am currently in a similar situation with a 2 unit that has a basement with 8ft ceiling, front, and rear entrance.

Policies exclusively naming the entity (LLC) are rear and expensive!

It is however well done and nicely maintained, with nice front and rear porches, the rear with a view of the river.It has 3 medium sized bedrooms with room for a king/queen in each, a large living room, dining area enough for 10, and another larger livingroom/familyroom. 

The main pain in the rear is dealing with the people that rent mobile homes, they are all one paycheck away from disaster it seems.
