The difference between a roofer who caters to investors and a roofer who does homeowner jobs can be thousands of dollars.How do you know the roof is 15 years old?

 I am looking for an insured roofer to fix some of the recent damage and a couple of roofs. 

If you were planning on reroofing and the cost of the materials was cheaper than your quote, then just pay for the materials.however, if the roof was fine, and basically they just replaced something that did not need replacing, then yes, the issue would be between the other roofer and his GC (but i would eat the cost of them filling up the dumpster, as the cost probably wouldnt be worth the fight)Just my 2 cents

GC's, roofers, architects etc. tend to give a quote for free, especially if there's a lucrative contract involved.

The main cause of the roof leak was from roofer hired by apartment management to replace their aged roof.

It's very common for someone to pay the contractor in full and then get a lien placed on their property because the contractor didn't pay the supplier.I've been dealing with the same roofer for years.
