I think the issue here is that the tenant didn't give proper notice of when he was leaving, how long they would be gone, etc.My lease says that a property is abandoned if it's empty for X number of days in a row and the utilities are off, or if it's empty with rent due, or if it's empty for Z number of days in general. 

Here is a note we bought for X, paid Y to resolve it, and collected Z when all was said and done.

Mark Z. made sure to qualify his company's policy and said that you may be able to work form anywhere, but your salary will be adjusted to the cost of living commensurate with the area you live.

Perhaps I should have posted this in a lending section, because that's really all I'm doing - putting up X with the expectation of receiving Y returned in Z time.
