When they return in August happens to coincide with a slowdown in tourism, so it would probably make the most sense to just work it out where they have the entire house during the school year; but I suppose if they had an interest in just renting the upstairs unit all year, I could consider trying to continue to airbnb the house all year.

There is not much tourism but mainly passing through.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Hospitality & Tourism. 

It does get a bit more complicated when you're talking about purchasing a property specifically for this purpose due to regulations (I have to answer to a state, a county, a town, and a village, who at any point can change their laws), the ebb and flow of tourism in a region, and your positioning within the region.  

It seems like returns might be better in Hawaii when looking at the constant tourism and high occupancy, but its hard to tell if the margins are tighter there or in Colorado Springs. 

They may create more turnover than you’d prefer, but they can also tell their inbound replacement what a great place it was to live and what an awesome landlord you were, and help you fill that vacancy.

Not just real estate but tourism sites too.

I’m sure tourism will be back but this experience has just further cemented some things that we already were thinking about.

It is a shame that the city is looking to stifle vacation rentals - tourism is an essential part of the economics and culture of South Lake Tahoe...

They are supporting the new inbound population, with the new job at one of the Fortune 500 Atlanta-headquartered corporations, with a home a few miles from work where they can raise a family and hope that their home purchase from the investor will allow them to one day also be a real estate investor.Linda @ blue moon
