@Lyndon Major Depending on your budget and if you are willing to try areas like Staten Island, the Bronx, or some parts of Queens and Brooklyn, you should be able to find a duplex to househack.

Also the market I have been eyeing is Port Aransas down to South padre Island.

@Raymond Armani, Manhattan is a big island with lots of different areas. 

I found it works well here in Galveston but we also have over 3.5k rentals on our 200 sq mile island.

In March and April we were not sure what would happen to the short term rental market here on Hilton Head Island. 

Having a really hard time finding a real estate tax planning CPA in or around Staten Island… Does anyone have a recommendation?

I will be moving back to the Big island soon and wanted to start making connections in Hawaii, I have looked through the forum here on BP and haven’t seen a REI meetup and wanted to know if there are any like minded investors on the big island that would like to start a group. 

Each island (key) has its own specific STR rules and regulations.

If you're worried about missing the beach, the closest areas to drive to are the Florida Panhandle and the Charleston and Savannah areas- Hilton Head Island, Tybee Island, etc. 

Does anyone know an investor on the Big Island?
