Now, the other consideration to take into account is that a "historical mansion" is a pretty huge jump away from the majority of projects that people discuss here on BP.

Large houses are money pits and I couldn't imagine a mansion (from what this sounds like).  

Do not develop a mansion in a trailer park.

Certain costs don't scale - a sewer tap costs the same whether you are building a tiny house or a mansion.
